Here is something you don't see everyday !! This is an all original, complete Pickguard Assembly from a 1969 Strat !! It is all there...The famous " pearl back " pickguard in excellent shape... pickups...pots...three way switch...cap...and all the wiring. Just drop it in and you are cranking it !!
It is unusual in that it has ORIGINAL 1966 dated pickups and pots !! I had an expert in Nashville tell me that was rare, but did happen in 69. Fender was still trying to use up 66 parts that they had a butt load of. By doing this, Fender unwittingly created a GREAT P/G assembly that sounds wonderful ! The pickups are even mounted to the pickguard with surgical tubing !! This is the latest I have ever seen that. It appears, however, to be original.
The Pickups are hand dated ' 10-14-66 ' with someone's ' SC ' initials. They read on my ohm meter as follows : Neck-6.01.....Middle- 5.98...Bridge- 5.60 and they really have that classic vintage strat sound. The pots are all date coded ' 304 6610 ' which is the 10th week of 1966.
I will even include the original 11 pickguard mounting screws !
This is a really cool assembly and would certainly enhance ANY strat. Make your 69 whole again !
