Vintage 1964 Fender Stratocaster (refinished) w/OHSC

Refinished in Fiesta Red L serial number and has had some parts restored over the years. OHSC.

The body has no additional routes with some evidence of shielding in the pickup cavities which was removed.  The worm route is present.  

The neck is beautiful with dark Brazilian rosewood and clay dot markers although it has been refinished.  Stamped on butt of neck is  4 JUN 64B.    Original dual line Kluson tuners are the only tuners that have been on the neck.  The nut is a bone replacement.  Frets look original.  The string tree is original with a nylon spacer.  Neck was over sprayed. The decal (Fender transition logo) is a replacement.  This is one great playing vintage neck.

The three pickups are all yellow stamped with a JUN 64 date and  have the original leads and windings.  Both tone pots are coded 137-6428 dating them to June 1964.  The volume pot is a replacement and dates to 1963.  Original Cap and three way CRL 1452 switch.  Several of the solder joints look original and probably are, but some are re-solders.

The original bridge has shallow string sets in the steel block as it should and the saddles are stamped Fender Pat Pending.

The tremolo cover, pickup covers and knobs are all original. 

When I got the guitar it had a replacement pickguard.  I purchased and installed an original 1964 green celluloid pickguard in fantastic shape.  It has shrunk slightly but works just fine.  I added a Callaham shield.

The case is an original 1964 no-logo case in usable condition.  The ends have some small cracks in the wood.  The latches are all there and operate, but the  spring action on the outer latches no longer springs them back.
