I collect guitars and bought this as an investment. It sits in a
humidified closet most of the time. Lately my daughters boyfriend who is
a phenomenal guitar player has pulled it out to jam. He raves on its
playability.

You're looking at a 1996 Fender USA Lonestar Stratocaster 50th
Anniversary in a Surf Green finish, chrome hardware and a Rosewood
fretboard. Please do not confuse this with the cheaper Mexican Lone Star
models... An AMERICAN, 1st year of production. That is a versatile
Strat that plays like butter... 2 Fender Texas Special Single Coil
Pickups... Not only does this guitar have the great single coil sounds
it also has a powerful factory Seymour Duncan Humbucker Pearly Gates in
the bridge position!!

This is the guitar wired from Fender for their very 1st year of
production of the USA Lone Star Strat. It has 2 calibrated Fender Texas
Special Strat pickups in the neck and middle positions and SEYMOUR DUCAN
Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge. Vintage tone, Texas growl, and
lots of spank. It is like SRV with some extra kick in the bridge! This
came with some trick wiring from Fender. In position #2, for the bridge
and middle pickups are engaged, the humbucker is split off to give more
equal vintage Strat quack. There is an older type ceramic capacitor on
the neck pickup. This guitar is all original and ready to rock! She just
celebrated her 11th birthday and has been shamefully under-played! As
you can see in the pictures, the finish has a beautiful luster and the
hardware glows with no signs of fading or tarnish. The guitar is in
great condition with no nicks or dings... the neck is straight with no
cracks or repairs... and the sound is just as sweet as it gets!!

There were only 2000 of the 50th anniversary made!
