Fender Strat

I need to raise some $$$ so I'm offering this vintage '75 Stratocaster.It was made in the original Fullerton,California factory.This is a sweet old Strat that's lightweight,easy to play and it sounds great!It has an ash body in a factory natural finish with a solid maple neck.The finish has aged very nicely over the years and this now has a very warm patina that only time can produce.The original frets are still in very good condition and the action is low.A new set of D'Addario .009's have been installed.

This Strat has a fixed bridge (hardtail) with a string through the body design like a Tele which produces better sustain and more reliable tuning.Unlike many 70's Fender guitars,this Strat is light (it weighs between 7 and 8 lbs on my bathroon scale) and the neck to body joint is very tight.

This guitar is in excellent condition.It comes with a modern Fender plastic hardshell case.For the most part,all parts are original.However,a few minor changes have been made over the years.Here's a list of all changes and non-original parts:

The tuning keys were changed to Schallers back in the 80's.The original "F" tuners were reinstalled using conversion bushings to fit the enlarged tuner holes.

Two of the twelve tuner mounting screws are not original (these are on the "G" string tuner but you probably wouldn't even notice had I not pointed it out).

Six small mounting screw holes for the Schaller tuners were were filled and are almost invisable.They are partially covered by the original  "F" tuiners.There is an old finish crack emanating from the low "E" Schaller tuner screw hole.You can see it in the last two pics.It has been there for over 25 years and I guarantee that it is only in the finish and not in the wood.

This has a five-way pickup selector switch which is not original.The mounting screws for this switch are also not original.Interstingly,this guitar originally came with a three-way pickup selector switch.

The volume pot was replaced in the '90's.The current volume pot has a '94 date code.The two tone pots are original and have a '75 date code.

The original plastic volume knob was lost and has been replaced with a cream colored knob which closely matches the original aged white tone knobs.

The original strap buttons have been replaced with Strap-Lock buttons.

Two of the original bridge saddles are replacements.These are the little "E" and the "B" saddles and although they are not original parts,they function as well as the originals.

Also,the original bridge was replaced for a time with an aftermarket brass bridge.This aftermarket bridge was slightly longer than the stock bridge and has left a very slight and faint mark in the finish below the original bridge (see pic).This too is very hard to see and it probably would go unnoticed if not mentioned.

The pickguard has raised slightly near the neck pickup on the bass side of the body ( see pic) this is common on old Strats and is no big deal.

That's it.Everything else is original.Please see the pics and take the time to supersize them to get a better idea of this guitar's condition.If you have any question,just shoot me an email.

I just wanted to add that this guitar is in exc.condition.This baby is 35 years old so naturally It shows some wear.There are the usual small dings and scratches on the body but nothing major or out of the ordinary.There is some playing wear visible on the neck and a ding on the back of the neck that's visible in the pics.Overall,though,this guitar is in remarkable shape for its age and is a great looking Strat.Remember to supersize the pics so you can see for yourself.
