Fender Strat

 This is a sweet K-series  Made in Japan Fender Stratocaster from 1989.The neck is a warm amber colored maple with the skunk stripe.  The color is Candy Apple Red. Everything is stock except the electronics. I always felt the MIJ series lacked essence in that department and this strat has been upgraded with Fender Robert Cray pickups in the neck and middle and a Duncan SSL-1 for the treble and CTS pots. For my ear, the Duncan has the best treble sound on this guitar. It is clear and bell-like. The input jack is a Switchcraft. All electronics on this guitar are AMERICAN. It plays like a dreams and I have it set up for 11's, so it will handle lighter strings easily. It has never been played outside of my home and it comes from a non-smoking environment. The color is a bright Candy Red and looks very deep. It has small scratches here and there but nothing major, just normal stuff you would find on any guitar that is played for fun. The frets still have a lot of life in them and have minimal wear. There are no cracks or nicks on this beauty. I will include a soft carry case along with this guitar and will also include a Fender red,white, and blue guitar strap. I am selling because I want to return to college, not for any other reason.
