Fender 'Wildwood 10' Custom Shop '65
Stratocaster Relic
LIMITED EDITION
Here we have an exceptional 2006 Fender Custom Shop 'Wildwood 10' Stratocaster Relic in Olympic White (with the aging relic finish). These guitars - rarely seen for sale in Europe, UK or USA - are a collaboration between Fender Music Corp and their biggest Custom Shop dealership, Wildwood Guitars, and are amongst the very finest instruments that Fender produces today. Not only is the workmanship outstanding, but the guitars have a very sweet and appealing tonality, which arises from the unique set of specifications, which include a quarter-sawn maple neck, specially voiced custom-wound pickups to deliver a sweet midrange, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and Bone Nut. This combination of features is unique to Wildwood's guitars and gives them a very distinct and warm character.
This particular guitar was hand picked from Wildwood's vast collection as a particularly fine example, with a quarter sawn maple neck and a figured Brazilian fingerboard (Fender rarely produces guitars with Brazilian rosewood and this series is the last that they will make with this wonderful wood). It has a nice articulate low end from the neck pickup, a great vintage-sounding middle pickup and a bridge pickup that is bright but smooth and not harsh. It has great acoustic reasonance too - always the sign of a fine electric guitar. The full specs are as follows:
- Finish: Olympic White RELIC (Faded Thin Nitrocellulose Finish)
- Body wood: Alder Body
- Fingerboard: Figured Brazilian Rosewood on a Quarter Sawn Maple Neck

As regards condition, the guitar is in near mint condition with very little fret wear and with the occasional scratches, dings and checking all produced by the Custom Shop and weighs in at 7.8 lbs. This is not a heavy relic but a nicely done realistic looking relic that is not over the top. The neck pocket is clean and tight.
The guitar comes in its black Custom Shop Limited Edition case (and with all documentation/ancillaries, including the Custom Shop COA and Hang Tag. Shipping to the EU will be USPS actual cost USA shipping is with FedEX and is $55. Insurance will be on final sale value.
Someone asked a great question - about the wear on back of the neck. The previous owner said it came this way. It does not look like the Custom Shop normal relic treatment. I think it was buffed and/or sanded slightly making the action faster. It plays like silk. But, I wanted to disclose it.
