***Rare 1987 Fender '67 Strat Reissue Stratocaster***

We're offering this very rare 1987 Fender '67 Strat Reissue Stratocaster, "Made in Japan", in the cool vintage Olympic White finish like the famed Jimi Hendrix Woodstock Strat. As you can see, this Strat is a true relic with lots of wear from its 23 years of play. It appears fully original with the exception of the string nut, and the missing backplate and trem bar. In my Google search for info on this rare model this was the earliest year I could find(please see the neck date in the pic below) and it's likely this is a first year(or at least 2nd) example. Fender was making most of their instruments in Japan in the early to mid 80's and the quality was considered to be equal to or better than the USA product, even by the Fender USA personnel of the era!

Although this guitar plays well in my opinion, it could use a new nut due to the fact the low E and A spacing is wrong on the current bone nut. This cool Strat is lightweight at only 7 lbs 3 ozs and is resonant even unplugged. It has the legendary bell tone and "in between quack" that vintage Strats are known for. Specs include a three-ply white pickguard, Maple neck with Maple "cap" fretboard, vintage style tuners, and the tremolo/bridge is the vintage style, with a large mass trem block currently screwed down tight.

There are very few of these to compare to but I've seem them in excellent condition sell for up to $900.00. This model is apparently offered currently by Fender Japan for their home market and the price in US dollars is over $1,400.00! Of course, Fender USA Custom Shop Relic Strats sell for over $3,000.00, although they don't currently offer a '67 Reissue model(I'm not sure they ever did). Due to the wear I've started this auction low with no reserve and am offering a very reasonable Buy It Now for those who don't want to wait and get picked off - Use the BIN and I'll include a new Fender padded gig bag, an extra set of GHS Rock-Its strings, a string winder and some Fender picks!
