This is a 2003 Fender
Stratocaster, made in Mexico. Originally
it was a HSS model, with a humbucker and two single coils and white
pickguard. The white pickups and pickguard
did not do this color justice, so I had this dark black perloid pickguard made for
me. Fender doesn’t offer a Strat with
two p-90’s, so I made one. The p-90
pickups have plenty of clarity, but have some beef to them too, it’s a nice
combination. The pickups are Mighty Mite’s
and each pickup has its own tone control. There’s a three-way tele style pickup
selector with a black barrel style knob.
This guitar is in really
nice shape. There are a couple of very
small indentations on the bass side of the neck where someone wearing a thumb
ring had played it. There is also a
small finish crack on the bass side of the neck pocket, approx. ½” long. It has a Midnight Wine finish and really looks
nice with the black perloid pickguard.
The finish has some minimal pick scratches. There are two small scratches in the clear
coat, ½” or so, I have them circled and pointed out, but I couldn’t get a clear
picture of them. The pickguard and the pickup covers have some pick scratches,
but they are very light and could easily be buffed out. There is minimal fret wear.
The guitar also comes in
the SKB hardshell case that is in the pictures, it’s a part of their Freedom
line. There is some light scuffing on
the edges of the case.
I’ve tried to be as accurate as I
can, but if you do have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
