Fender Strat

This is a 1979 USA Fender Stratocaster that plays rather nicely and has good frets and action. The neck is in good shape with a couple of extra holes at the headstock and a locking nut installed. The body of the guitar has the worst case of checking that I have ever seen!! My intention was to strip the old Antigua paint job and finish the guitar in a clearcoat,under the paint is a beautiful ASH body, but my schedule just doesn't give me time to mess with it. Someone did a bad job of routing the guitar for a humbucking pickup,but  it won't be seen with a pickguard on the guitar. The Floyd Rose bridge is one that I've never seen before,but it works ok. When I first got the guitar I was totally bummed out on how someone neglected such a collectable guitar and had decided to strip it and have it refinished!!! The two single coil pickups are from 79 but the humbucker is a Carvin. The middle pickup isn't working but I think it is the 5 way switch that is at fault (but I'm not sure) The neck and carvin are working fine. This would make an awesome older strat with a body refinish and a new pickguard,but as it stands it is a work in process and would take some work to make it a beauty!!!   As it is it plays well and sounds quite good. The case is in real nice shape and is original to the guitar.    Good Bidding!!!!!!!!!!
