1985 - 1986 FENDER STRATOCASTER
A NICELY AGED TRUE RELIC - MADE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY (PLAYING IT)
Up for bid is the beautiful 1985-1986 Fender Stratocaster Guitar. It is a nice aged white with a rosewood fretboard. It has the much desired Fender System 1 Tremolo system and locking nut. These were manufactured in Germany by the Schaller I can actually date the guitar to 1985 (Serial Number B010536) because I am the original owner and purchased it brand-new from the Sam Ash Music Store in Huntington Long Island (after saving months for the money to buy it). This guitar has been played off and on over the years and has aged naturally into a beautiful relic. The paint and plastic have aged and mellowed beautifully over the 25 years of its life. It looks like a much older Strat. It is missing the whammy bat and the plastic spring cover on the back (I took it off the guitar and brought it to a show to have Albert Collins sign it which he did.) Over the years I have misplaced it somewhere in one of my moves. There is is an area where the guitar finish has chipped off the edge. I have taken a photo close up to show it. It actually adds a nice bit of character to the guitar. There are some other minor dings and dents and a few finish checks. These all have been made naturally and nothing has been artificially reliced. I dropped the guitar off to my local music store for a check-up and new set of strings. He said all was fine and cleaned the pots and switch. I regret not doing the setup at the time as I told him to just throw a set of 10s on it. This guitar needs a setup. There is minor fret wear in a couple of spots.
These Fender guitars from the mid 1980s are know for their superior quality. May people compare the materials and workmanship to much older American Strats. Even these MIJ pickups are noted for their quality and true to Fender sound. Overall a great guitar which has become very desired and sought after recently by real players. Guitar will be packaged carefully and does not come with a case (I could not afford a case for this in 1985). These guitars sell in mint collectible condition for around $1500. I am starting the bidding on this one at 1/3 of that in a No Reserve - Buyer Take All Auction. I am also putting a Buy It Now on it for $799 in case someone does not want to get in a bidding war and just purchase it. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have.
Payment by PayPal. Winning bidder to include $35 for careful packing and shipping via FedEx Ground with full insurance. Thanks for looking and good luck.
