Colour: Sunburst, Made in USA, Year
of production 1993-1994
I bought it used in 2006 and played it
very little since. It is in excellent condition, with very little fret wear.
The Neck is straight and action is nice and low with no buzz. I replaced old original
Fender case which I got it damaged with new Gewa hard case, the same as
original. All original electronics work fine. It has no dings and just a few
hair scratches, no visible scratches. The guitar was played just at non smoking
home occasionally.
Strat Plus Series was
introduced by Fender in 1987 as one of the most innovative guitars of the era,
and was the highest end production model next to Fender's Custom Shop guitars.
All done by the joined efforts of Fenders engineers teamed up with Don Lace,
Bob Sperzel and Trev Wilkinson. The Fender-Lace Sensor Pickups, invented by Don
Lace, were introduced in 1987.
The Stratocaster Plus
Series was going to be the first Fender Strats with the premier
"roller-nut" designed by an English chap by the name of Trevor
Wilkinson.
It featured many
unique design firsts fit in a Stratocaster:
- Fender Gold Lace-sensor pickups
The Strat Plus also used
Don Lace’s new Lace Sensor pickups which were quite unique because they did not
employ traditional strong magnets to pickup the sound. The Lace Sensor pickups
could be adjusted as high up to the strings as desired with no issue of string
pull, and noiseless, while retaining the tone of a vintage single coil.
- Sperzel locking machine heads
- Original Split Wilkinson Roller nut
It reduces friction when
using the tremolo along with locking tuners it does increase tuning stability.
- TBX Tone Control
TBX = Treble Bass Expander. It enhances your tonal palatte without the
use of a battery. From "0" to "5" the TBX is your standard tone
control, but once you pass "5" you start to decrease the resistance
which allows more bass, treble, presence and output to flow to your amp.
- Beautiful Rosewood neck with 22 frets
- 5-position switch
