Fender Strat

Up for your consideration is a 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster body in Porsche Silver.  Like all 25th Anniversary strats I know of, it is made of hard rock maple so it is a bit on the heavy side.  It is in very nice shape overall, with the only two dings in the paint being on the lower side near where the control cavity is.  These are shown in one of the pics.  Other than that there is a fair bit of paint checking, mostly in the area that would be covered by a pickguard and neck plate.  The checking is quite prominent in a cold room, but once some warmth hits it it disappears for the most part.  There is a peculiar hole through the neck pocket that is completely hidden once a neck and neck plate are installed.  The neck pocket is not super loose like a lot of CBS era strat neck pockets apparently were--I'd say the fit is about average between the few necks that I've test fitted in the pocket.  The paint does not appear to have turned a greenish shade like most of the 25th Anniversary strats have; however, there is a reddish tint on the edge of the body right by the forearm contour that I believe must have come from the case that the guitar came in, as this was a common occurrence with the 25th Anniversary guitars.  I bought this body earlier this year for a project and decided to use a newer sunburst body instead, so I don't have the rest of the guitar this body came from.

I realize this listing says that shipping insurance is not offered.  I am not sure how to change that.  The item will be insured for the entire amount of the sale at no extra charge to the buyer.

I will not take as long to ship the item as it says above.  I do work a lot of hours sometimes but worst case scenario would be the item would go out on the Saturday following the end of the auction, but I shouldn't have a problem getting it shipped within one business day.  I'd just rather give myself a little bit of a margin on shipping time than make a promise I may not be able to keep.

The pickguard is not an original '79 but it is a genuine Fender pickguard and is the correct 11-hole, 3-ply B/W/B for the 25th Anniversary strats.  It was used for a short time so it does have some light pick scratches on it.
