Description: Fender JV reissue '62 Stratocaster. The Fender joint venture (JV) took place in the early 80's and the models from 1983 and 1984 are considered the best, being largely hand-manufactured and considerably superior in craftsmanship to US product of the time. The ST62-65 model was based on the1962 Stratocaster and features '62 appointments including neck and fret profile. This Strat was professionally refinished in Sonic Blue Nitrocellulose lacquer with a stunning relic finish.

The guitar Is shown with a Fatboy replica pickguard and full aluminium backing plate made for me by Mark Foley and is loaded with Sheptone '62 pickups (special Andy Brauer set) that Shep handmade for me with a few tweaks. Do some reading yourself: these are the best in the business and you need a lot of patience as there is a very, very long wait-list. I ordered two sets and I use the other in a real '63 Strat. The custom-wired loom has the new mid-boost/cut built into the first tone pot, while the last tone pot clicks up to add the first pickup to any combo. This makes a stunning array of tones from classic Mark Knopfler honk to hot and edgy SRV. If you're interested in this loaded pickguard please email me - again: it it NOT included in this sale.
Details: Straight neck with gorgeous vintage amber colour and features rare flame Maple, brilliant playing action, perfect frets, no structural or electrical issues, comes with original trem arm and softcase. A very fine JV Strat with hand-written neck date.
