From its humble beginnings, the Stratocaster has become the most famous electric guitar in the world. Players like Hank Marvin, Buddy Holley, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughn, just to mention a few, have forged their musical pathways utilizing the incredible tonal characteristics and playability created by the artistry of the 50s Stratocaster. The year 1956 brought about a revolution in Rock n' Roll history and the Stratocaster was the gun that backed it up!

This Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster Closet Classic is a treasure...One of the last and one of the finest, built by the world-renowned Fender Senior Master Builder, John English, who died on June 28, 2006. It's quality of workmanship is a testimony to his skill and a celebration of his life. Working with exotic woods, metals, plastics, stone and even bone, English built finely crafted custom guitars for everyone from Eric Clapton to President George Bush. His contributions and techniques will live on in the instruments that he built and I believe this guitar to be one of his finest creations. Looking deep into the Fiesta Red finish you can see the hours he spent checking the finish on both the front and back of the guitar. The neck on this guitar is made of incredibly and beautifully flamed maple and it features a perfect 10/56 Boat shape, John English Stamp on back of headstock, a Maple Fingerboard with a 7.25" Radius and 21 Vintage Style Frets. The body is two-piece alder, featuring a single-ply pickguard and fully loaded with 3 Custom wound '50s Single-Coil Stratocaster Pickups - Controls Master Volume, Tone 1. (Neck Pickup), Tone 2. (Middle Pickup) Pickup Switching 3-Position Blade: Position 1. Bridge Pickup Position 2. Middle Pickup Position 3. Neck Pickup Bridge American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo Machine Heads Fender/Gotoh® Vintage Style Tuning Machines Hardware Nickel/Chrome Pickguard Scale Length 25.5" (648 mm) Width at Nut 1.650" (42 mm). Built as if bought new in its respective year and played a few times a year and then put carefully away. Has a few small dings, checked finish, oxidized hardware and aged plastic parts.This guitar is as new and comes complete with the original Vintage Tweed Case (Orange Interior), Strap, UNOPENED GOODIE BAG including a Cable, and a Custom Shop Limited Edition Certificate signed by John English. This guitar is a Collectors Prize and a Players Dream. It has the the essence of the 50s and the Magic MOJO of the masters!
