"Those of you who have been around for awhile might remember the necks that were adverstised in Vintage Guitar magazine and the magazine that later became 20th Century Guitar. I'm referring to the early '90s.
These necks were sold thru Elliot Mechanic's "Mechanicland"; he's a Dentist in Canada, who used to be a Vintage Guitar dealer, and did restoration, guitar building and sold these necks.
For the most part there were two types of Telecaster and Stratocaster, Chunky Maple '52 Style and '60s Slabboard for Teles, and a '54 Maple and early '60s Slab for Strats. All of them were wonderful necks, finished in amber Nitro lacquer and very decent replacement for vintage Fender. From time to time, he also sold accurate Tele bodies to go along with the necks. There were testimonials from GE Smith and a few other well known guitarists telling how accurate they were for vintage use."
THIS PARTICULAR NECK WAS MADE FOR A FRIEND OF MINE IN THE 90'S, THE NECK IS A ONE PIECE MAPLE DESIGN WITH SOME INTERESTING GRAIN PATERNS. THE NECK IS IN GREAT CONDITION NO WEAR TO THE LACQUER AND THE FRET WIRE IS IN GREAT SHAPE. THIS IS A LATE 50'S STYLE NECK WITH A 9.5" RADIUS AND A LARGE DIAMETER.
