1985 MIJ Strat - In like new condition
I basically rebuilt this guitar from the ground up. The body, neck, tuners, tremelo and pick ups are all original. Here is what I did....
- refinished the neck with satin nitro laq.
- removed lock-nut and added string trees as well as a bone nut.
- total refret, polished the fret board and put stew mac semi jumbo frets in. frets were dressed and polished.
- body was refinished with nito cellulous laquer. I custom mixed the color, it doesnt show up that well in photos, but there is a little touch of gold and silver flake.
- completely disasembled the tremelo to clean/lubricate every part. reinstalled tight to the body, essentially making it a hard tail.
- new white pickup covers and mop pick gaurd as well as matching back cover.
- I rewired the guitar using the original 5-way switch, 250k alpha pots, switchcraft input jack and modern fender tone cap. I also shielded the cavity with copper foil and used heavy gauge copper wire. All the connections were hand wired, no buzz.
This guitar plays and sounds great!! Dont really know what else to say.......It sounds like a strat....
