1961 All Original Except For Some Screws, Fender Decal, And Paint. Yes I Painted It! My Mistake Is Your Gain.
I Purchased It Used In 1969.
It Had An Original Fender White Finish.
Fender Made A Great Sounding Guitar, But Their Finish Didn’t Hold Up.
I Stripped It Down With Paint Remover And Refinished It With Clear Lacquer. (I Don’t Remember The Manufacturer’s Name.) Oh, Keep Quiet, It Wasn’t A Collector’s Item At That Time!
Surprisingly, I Did Not Paint Over Any Of The Penciled In Identification Marks And You Can Clearly See Them.
If You Have It Custom Painted Make Sure They Don’t Paint Over Them.
This Guitar Has A Rare Birds Eye Maple Neck And A Beautiful Ash Body.  I Paid A Factory Approved Technician To Install A New Nut On The Neck. He Sent Pictures to Fender To Verify It Was A 1961 Fender Stratocaster, Before They Would Send The Decal To Him.
The Body Has Some Scratches.
There Are No Cracks In The Pick Guard.
The Plastic Vibrato Cover On The Back Has Cracks In Three Different Screw Holes, But No Breaks.
The Neck Has A Small Repaired Crack Near Tuning Keys, Some Fret Wear And New Screws Where The Neck Attaches To The Body.
There Are New Screws In The Pick Guard And Vibrato Cover.  There Are New Screws And Springs On The Bridge Adjustment.  The Case Is In Good Shape And Original; Some Wear.
