This is for 2005 Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster Closet Classic in 2TS (two tone sunburst) with the original case (cellophane still on the latches), all case candy and original vintage-style strap. This guitar has barely seen the light of day since it was bought new- it is a closet classic twice! It really is in amazing condition; the only wear on this guitar is the very slight wear that was made by the Fender Custom Shop when the guitar was built (if you don't know what that means, please research the Fender Time Machine Series before bidding- this guitar was built to look as though it was made in '56 and played very little since then- the body is completely checked, tiny little nicks here and there, etc., but it isn't destroyed-looking like a full Relic or minty fresh like the NOS models- in other words, it's juuuussst riiiiight... like a favorite pair of jeans). Serial number R230XX. Last time this was listed, someone suggested that the headstock decals looked like they'd been applied on a neck with no clear coat- I'd laugh, but I suppose some people have never seen an old Fender (or a new one made to look old)--anyway, that's not the case- all the decals are located underneath properly puckered up nitrocellulose lacquer. The guitar weighs a medium-light 7 lbs. 14 oz. and it plays and sounds like a dream. The neck is a boat/soft V shape with a 7 1/4" radius. As everyone does with these, the three-way switch has been swapped for a five-way switch (Fender included it with the guitar when it was new, along with instructions which are still with the guitar), but the original three-way is included in the case. These cost $3279.99 (for sunburst models) on all the major online sites (Musician's Friend, etc.) and major stores (Guitar Center, etc.)-- the opening bid is $1690 less... and that's the price you'll pay if you are the only bidder, because this auction has NO RESERVE price and it's got FREE SHIPPING.
