Relic 1974 74 Time Warp TW74 Fender Stratocaster
~Time Warp 1974 Fender Stratocaster~
Amazing Detailed Replica of a 1974 USA Fender Stratocaster!
I love the look of those 70s guitars and have been building these Time Warp guitars for a few years now. It is not designed to fool collectors or buyers into thinking they're getting a vintage guitar, but to be a professional grade axe that has the mojo of a vintage guitar, without the vintage or Custom Shop price. All the modern dates and bar codes are still a part of this guitar, as well as the original serial number being removed from the back of the headstock and stamped into the butt of the neck.
This TW74 started with a 2004 Fender Stratocaster 72 Reissue with an amazing body and neck. Like the 70s Strats it has a nice piece of Ash tone wood and weighs a 8 lbs 14 oz. I try to use as many vintage parts as possible, and it has been aged and relic'd to look like an original 1974 Stratocaster, right down to the reproduction Patent number on the headstock and a real Fender block saddles, just like the original. I also has an original late 70s drop cap and a Fender F neckplate with a 1974 serial number stamped into it.
The neck is hard rock maple and has a 70s U profile, with a 7.25 radius. The vintage size frets show NO WARE. The neck is straight and true, without issue. The repro patent number was added to the original decal and amber Nitro was shot over it. The headstock was the only place Fender used Nitro on the 70s Strat's (because the decal reacted to the poly) and it ages differently.
The neck and middle pickups and electronics are all stock Alnico, but I wanted to emulate the 1979 X-1 pickup in the bridge and added a hot 7 ohm Fender Strat pickup with a very cool and rare white bobbin. I also rewired it so the bottom tone pot controls the bridge and the middle controls the middle and neck pickup. They're exceptional sounding and can nail vintage and modern Strat tones, and the wiring mod and hot bridge pickup make it very versatile.
The guitar absolutely shreds. It plays fast and smooth and will handle anything you can throw at it musically. You'll have that coveted vintage 1974 Strat you always wanted, and can afford to play it out. And when you do, everyone will swear it's an original.
It comes complete with a 1970s style molded hard case, as well as case candy.
You could go out and buy a Custom Shop model for 3 times the price, but then you're into vintage prices. If you want a 70s Strat, but don't want to pay 70s prices, this is your chance to own Fender's best at a fraction of what you'd pay for a good 70s Strat.
The guitar was created to look vintage and there are no issues with this guitar. There are no breaks or repairs. It's as solid as the day it left the factory. It just looks better now.
