1989 Fender Stratocaster Black MIJ Electric Guitar

Up for bid is a truly fabulous 1989 “Made In Japan” Fender Stratocaster in Black with a white pickguard (Serial Number E926733) – a real beauty. Unlike some of the other non-USA made Strats, Japanese made ones are starting to climb in value due to their increasing demand and overall quality & playability; this one is no exception.  I recently had the guitar set-up by my most excellent guitar luthier and it now plays like “butter” with its rosewood finger board and fantastic Strat 3-single coil pickup sound.

While the guitar has some normal light wear and a random ding here and there, it’s otherwise in excellent condition and has been kept in its case in my smoke-free home studio for the past year that I’ve owed it.  I’m not the original owner (as it was a gift to me from a great friend of mine who bought it at a music store), so I have no knowledge if the pickups are original (although I think they are). The guitar has frets that are in great shape with plenty of wear left on them, Gotoh tuners and the standard Fender Strat bridge.  I unfortunately don’t have the tremolo arm, but that part can be bought at any music store.  The guitar does come with a hard shell case (see pictures) and will be adequately packed for safe shipping.

Like any of my guitars, I hate giving this one up.  But I’m “thinning the herd” to raise funds for my kid’s college tuition.  Again, the guitar is in excellent condition with only light wear; I’d rate the guitar an 8.5 out of 10 (so if you’re looking for a mint, collector's piece with no wear whatsoever, then please move on). But if you are looking for an exceptional Fender guitar with great playability, vintage look and classic Strat sound, then this is the one. FYI…Anything that looks like wear on the front or back edge of the guitar shown in the pictures is merely the reflection from the camera – the finish is still nearly perfect all the way around.
