1988 Fender Stratocaster Plus Deluxe!

Fender's Strat Plus has been discontinued a few years back but still has a big following on the used market. Many players love the advanced features, powerful Lace Sensor pickups and great quality of these USA built guitars. Nearly top of the line in the 80s and 90s, these guitars are being discovered by a new generation of players for their quality and cool tones. The body is ash for good sound and weight. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. A trio of Lace Sensor pickups offer powerful tone with very little noise. This one is a Deluxe model as it has a red, gold and blue Lace Sensor. A 2 point trem offers smooth whammy action while a roller nut and locking tuners keep it accurate. The locking pins in this example's tuner don't seem to work. This example is finished in blueburst, a cool color with a transparent blue center and metallic edges. A very cool instrument for any Strat fan.

This is a cool Strat Plus with good tone and feel. The frets are in good shape and I suspect it has been refretted as they appear a little bigger than stock. The neck is straight and the action is good. The Lace Sensors deliver a variety of tones. they have great clarity and are great with effects. This would be a good guitar for a player but is not for a collector type. It shows a good bit of playwear including scratches, dents and dings. Some finish wear on the fingerboard and neck as well. Cool vibe for a player. Comes in Fender Plus case.

I wish Fender still offered the Plus. They were great guitars for anyone that could appreciate a modern take on a classic design. Very Hi Fi sounding and great if you use a lot of effects. The closest thing in the current lineup is the American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster which will run you $1649 in the superstores. Why not grab something with some unique features?
